Alas, Lettuce is quite bland without its counterparts in this specific friendly sandwich.
You all are on Spring Break, I think. Are you lolling on a beach in Florida? Are you dancing wildly in front of video cameras? Or in front of each other? Have you opted for a homebound, restful break? Whatever the case, write and let me know. Give this blog some lovin'.
I just got back from my Spring Break on Monday morning, then went straight to class from the airport. I haven't called my parents yet (!) because as soon as I got home, I opened an email from my friend Laura, who is visiting Madrid this week while I'm here. More exhausted than I thought I'd be after an amazing week-long trip to Italy (which, it turns out, is one of the many homes of my soul), I have been attempting to spend as much time with Laura as possible between classes and recovery-sleep. I want to show her everything I can in Madrid, but school (durned school!) is taking up some time with classes (go figure). Luckily, Laura is fairly independent and is willing to go out into the city on her own some.
While in Italy, I saw so many things that I would have liked to have shared with you ladies. Rome was history and modernity twisted together, beautifully, only missing a haiku from Ashley. Florence--oh gosh--where was Therese when I saw the statue David, or the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel before? And I hiked a beautiful piece of the Mediterranean coast along Cinque Terre with the ghost of Betsy. I had gelato 6 times in that country, all different flavors. It would be creamy-sweet if we could go back and get gelato in Italy together someday.
I miss you girls!

Dear Leah,
Tonight as Therese and myself dined at Salsaritas, funny things transpired. (Is that the correct use of Therese's LSAT word, "transpired"?)
Betsy: "You know when you're lonely and you start to image things?"
Betsy: "I just feel like I should be able to tell how tall people are!!!!!"
Well she can tell you what happened in the elevator. It probably isn't that funny but it sure was to us at that moment!!!
Before I continue, Betsy is bold and Therese is italic.
Okay, elevator. Therese and I cruised into Marchetti East, swiping of course (we need to tell you about "lock down"), and we got into the elevator. I of course muttered a curse word when we had to go down to the basement first. As luck would have it we had to stop on G again and some unexpected and unwelcome characters got into the elevator. I think you can guess who these people are, but in the interest of anonymity I will just leave it at that. Well Betsy could not contain herself. Her face turned bright red as she clasped her face in her hands to stifle the giggle. She just kept laughing and trying to calm herself down as nothing worked. We both turned to face the back of the elevator and waited as it stopped at 4, and then after an eternity 7. Finally we burst out laughing. This was even worse because I really really had to use the bathroom by that time!! The poor other people in the elevator thought we were nuts. So that's the story, Betsy can add things if she wants to.
Right now we're just hanging out and we miss you lots. We're going to try to blog interesting things, because we're oh so trendy like that and we also want to be cool like you. St. Louis is not as interesting as Spain, but we'll try to create some stories worth sharing!!!
Leah, we really miss you. Really really. I hope you enjoy this blog space because we made it for yoooouuu!!!
